Live Wire

Who knows the colour of the live ignition wire behind the dash.

You are talking the wire that gets power when the ignition is turned on right IIRC White with purple stripes (second key position). Brown is always on from the battery (I know this for sure) , white is for accessories (first key position) and the last one I think white with red strips is for the starter (last key position).

Follow-up Post:

Just thinking about it again, if you are sitting in th drivers seat looking at the ignition switch, the bottom left should be brown (always live) top left should be white (accessories) top right should be white with purple stripes (the one you want) and the bottom right should be white with red stripes (starter).

i was,i have no red with purple stripe. white with red stripe, white with orange stripe(orange is bottom right,use that one???)
still need to wire lights and whinch which wont take long just connecting to new fuse box
other than that all loaded and ready to go

I never said red with purple! OK so red with white, is it in the top right? If so use that one it should turn your test light on when you put the key in the on position.
