no not really, but i still got my last paycheck from this summer and I'm deciding to spend it, and i ordered the EE retainers already and have some left, and i've always liked limb risers for their functionality and I don't want to scratch up my defender real bad on the trails.

How to build your own set of Limb Risers for under $20.00

I remember reading a post (I think it was on here) about a guy buying all his parts from Home Depot. I did google these articles. http://www.redbirdsra.com/techtipslimbrisers.htm and http://www.discoweb.org/limb/

Found it! http://www.defendersource.com/mod/bd.html

thank you thats last link helped out. Just most of the designs seem to wrap around the roof rack and not attach to the NAS cage.

Boating supply stores (west marine) ususally have a better selection of the items you'll need, in stainless, than the depot.

I got most of my stuff from Ace hardware in the garage door section. I used the clear rubber coated wire and it made for a nicer install because it won't fray as easy.

If there's ever a mod you can do yourself on the cheap this is it. You can even hook the wire to a velcro strap on your cage so it's easily removable without drilling the cage and eventually rusting it up.

...unless you plan on leaving them on around town - you know, for functionality (poseur value).

FWIW.. Limb risers are primarily for protection of the windshield, to lessen the impact of a branch that might hit it. They dont do a lot for protecting the sides and paint.
