No, but I will take your old glass when you do it.

i think ecr has some good pics of the gate.

I was going to do it myself but I still have a spare tire that would block my view so didnt do it.

Tom I'd like to do the same so please do let us know how it goes. For me it's just a symmetry thing. It looks much better with the bigger glass.

undefinedTom,

Here is my understanding from what I have read

The top of the window is already in the correct place as it matches the rear windows
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...chmentid=19888

you need to lower the bottom part to match the rear windows ( I already removed the steel part that is in the way) so all you would need to do is cut the aluminium skin lower.

My hardtop sides are apart right now so I can measure the opening if you would like.

Just a reminder you will want to weld the lower corners as they have hairline cracks (every liftgate I have had so far needed this done)

going out to the garage now to measure the hole for you

Ron,

I have 2 liftgate glasses, and a bunch of other glass (alpine, tinted fixed side, tinted liftgate, tinted rear small windows) let me know what you want.

Follow-up Post:

Just checked my hardtop and the opening for the little rear side windows is 15.375

I think it would look best if you make the opening in the liftgat the same size.

hope that helps

No problem Tom,

FYI George from RDS has the best price on gasket for the liftgate, just make sure he knows that your putting a larger window in it when you order or he might send you the amount you need for a standard window size.

When you make the cuts on the bottom try to keep the radius of the corners stock, if you go much tighter the gasket will not seal
