Let's play identify the tyre carrier...

No markings, except a decal that says not to exceed a 35" spare...

Geez, that thing's HUGE...does it weigh less than 200 lbs? I've no clue who made it. Looks like it could do double duty as a gate for a cattle pen in a pinch. It also looks like it's meant to mount on a J**P crossmember as opposed to a Rover.

Hmmm.. wonder if it IS Heep stuff.... I'll see if the mounting holes etc line up to the crossmember tomorrow. I don't want this thing on my Defender- I'm going back to stock or maybe just leave the spare on the bonnet. The 'uncluttered' naked back end is kinda neat.

That is definetely a Jeep Wrangler bumper. It might fit a YJ (86-96 model), but most likely it was designed for a TJ (97 - 2006 model). I think it is made by Durango in Colorado, but it is sold by several companies under different names. There is a picture of it on P. 35 of the current 4WD Hardware catalog if you want to compare (www.4wd.com). The telltale sign is the mounting holes, which others above have noted. I have several friends who run this bumper on their TJ's. Very sturdy, but also quite heavy.

Looks kind of like a Warn rip-off: http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s...per_jeep.shtml
