It's broke, made typical mistake of pulling to hard on the speedo when replacing some plastic.

If the plastic fitting that connects to the speedo broke, all may not be lost. I've had two that were broken in the middle - about halfway between the cable end and the speedo end (sorry, hard to describe)- and was able to repair them. I mad a 'splint' of sorts by cutting a short section of rubber hose so that I could slip it over the fitting and then put two hose clamps around it to hold everything in place. Worked like a charm in both cases.

Somewhere I have a photo and will share it I can find it.

Cheers,

CARL

Any chance you could take some pics of the speedo cable (one overall and a close up of each end --connectors) and post them to this thread. It would be a helpful as they no longer sell the upper speedo cable and it has to be custom fabricated.

Thanks

Pic of other fitting?

I forgot,
Could you take a pic of the other fitting too? I'm assuming it is still attached to the housing. If you placed a ruler or a measuring tape beside it for comparison it would be helpful to the fabricators - a picture is worth a thousand words!

Thanks again,

Mike, do you know the dimensions of the squares - the (two) square ends of the
cable that you are holding in the pics? I've been told it should be either .104" or .124".

Thanks,
