Damn. I am so wishing I hadn't missed this group buy. ECR is out of these, and the oil cooler line kits.

Did you guys get the sets without the ECR installed connectors, and hardwire them? Looks like a conversion from 94 lights to these is pretty do-able.

Please let us know what your successes and challenges were though.

Just re-discovered this sitew after my D90 sat during a long deployment. Bummed that I missed the group buy, but will keep an eye on the ECR site for when they get more kits in stock. Also waiting for the oil cooler line kit...

Brake lights not working w/ LED's

I installed all four LED lights and flasher today and everything works until I hit the brakes and nothing happens. If the tail lights are on they simply go off when I hit the brake pedal. The 3rd brake light is working so I know it is not the brake switch. just wandering if maybe I did something wrong in the install? Any special tricks I am missing here? Thanks for your help.

No brake lights.......

Just occurred to me that I unplugged the trailer wiring harness when I was installing the LED's. Could that be why I have no brake lights? Thanks

Unplugging the trailer harness will not prevent the brake lights from working. You have another problem.

I have double checked all connections and I still have no brake lights from the LED's although 3rd brake light works fine. Tail lights work, turn signals work, just no brake lights; tail lights go off when brake pedal is pushed. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Todd

Check that the wiring is correct. Sounds like you have an install problem. The color codes are the following:

Red LED unit:
Tail light: BLUE wire
Ground: WHITE wire
Brake light: RED wire

The 90 has the following color codes for the Red lamp:
Tail light: Red, Red w/ Black stripe
Ground: Black
Brake light: Green w/ purple stripe

So you need to match up (Truck to LED unit):
Black to WHITE
Green w/purple stripe to RED
Red to BLUE

These units left ECR without any connectors installed, so be sure the wiring is correct.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

You beat me to it Mike.

Yes, it matters which wire is connected to where. Everyone please check and re-check before your install - especially those with the weatherpacks, since I didnt use wire coded to either the LED or the harness.

Just got and installed the kit and...WOW!

Great product and ECR got it to me ASAP (since my taillights both gave up the ghost!)

Jim, thanks again for putting the group buy together. I finally have them on the truck. I've very impressed with the ECR LEDs!

I'd like to replace all my side markers and turn signals with their LED version as well.

Wow, about damn time! They do look good, you'll find yourself wanting to drive behind yourself to see how cool you look. (Dork Alert) I had the same problem when I installed a set of interval flashers on a 2000 Mustang I had, they were so cool that I'd just put on the hazards and stare.

so that is what a 94 converted to 95 style tail lights look like?

I'm guessing that 95's don't have the protector and that it could be removed with the new lights...

The protector grilles are just an accessory.

The LED's are made by Rubbolite, and they sell a light that looks very much like the 94 lights. I think ECR rejected them because they weren't close enough, but their standards are very high. Its difficult to find a distributor for these lights - most places only sell to the trades. Check out the Rubbolite model 312 and 312 at http://www.truck-lite.eu.com/

@ Mike - I wasnt trying to source these to undercut you - but I thought I messed up the group buy and tried to source more - fortunately some people backed out and I was OK in the end.

Rubolite aka trucklite, made the original 1993/94 lamps side markers in the bumper, side lamps and all the tail lamps other than the third brake light. A 313 and a 312 should be what you need on a 1994, although I have not checked to see if they are the same size as the originals.

this is their US distributor
