Doing a search and comparing the results i think the light on the video looks very nice, i found the Leds that he used, and this are 180 angle.

Did you re-arrange your gauges? From left to right, mine are tach, temp, fuel then speedo.

I don't even have a Tach. Just fuel, temp, fluid, and Speedometer. Is it hard to replace on with a Tachometer??

The little black sleeves on the back of my guages that the light bulbs slides into, one of them is broken off.

What is the best solution for that?

Will a 28 mm replacement led bulb be too long? If so what use longest that would work?

Just replaced the tach, fuel and temp gauges with the green Super Bright LEDs. Amazing how much better they make the dash look.

Question: When I pulled the two out of the speedometer they look like there might be a wedge in the removable blue base. Or is the base part of the bulb? Didn't want to pull out what I thought was the wedge and find out I was pulling apart a bulb.

Without reading the thread, you have a 97, which uses VDO gauges. Completely different than all prior Rover type gauges.

I found what I think are the replacements. The speedometer bulbs appear to be 509T models.

I found the LED green colored ones from car-mod-shop.co.uk. Should arrive later this week. I'll repost when I have confirmation of fit.

Hope this helps the other NAS 90 owners.

Any update on fitting LED gauge bulbs in your '97 NAS?
What bulb sizes are needed in your '97? I think most of the posts here are of 94-95's.

Thanks!

Thanks for bumping this, Chris.
I am also trying to light a '97 cluster. I already had the gas, temp gauge as they are the same as older trucks.
It seems the 97 speedo uses the B8.5 size which is different than they were a few years back.
I wonder if these in green will work?

Also, the tach is another type of bulb and the hvac lights look like the same size but they are green.

per the PDF in other post I referenced, i order 2 of the 8.5D's in green for speedo yesterday, along with 74-G size bulbs for tach, heater & fan switches. I will confirm once I get them and installed.

I just swapped to LED's for the gauge cluster - this is for a '97 NAS.
The LED's I ordered _for the gauge cluster_, per the PDF mentioned in post 72 above, was spot on.
I used a 9v battery to confirm +/- before installing them into the cluster. The only LED's I wasn't able to test with the 9v were the ones for the speedo - I couldn't figure in the cluster socket which is + or -. So, that was trial & error.
Hope this helps others.

I used the tach bulb socket (74-G LED) & 9v batt to confirm +/- before installing them

Here is back of the cluster (L to R: fuel, temp & tach). Fuel & temp use T13-G6. Tach uses the smaller bulbs 74-G, same as heater controls.

Speedo & bulbs. I had to slightly bend up/down the contacts to make sure they make contact with the PCB.

LED on bright setting - good setting, not blinding, looks more washed out with cam trying to compensate the contrast.

LED on dim setting (oddly only the T13-G6's and one of the speedo dim). So, basically not usable at night.

Hope this helps others with '97 NAS.

Tach bulb...how do you remove it?

How does one remove the bulb on the tach? On my 110, its a long aluminum tube but it sealed on the end. its a white incorporated cap with the electrical tab on the end bent in 90 degrees.
Someone above mentioned using a needle nose plier
but on my socket, There is nothing I can see where you can remove it. Anyone have this problem? Thanks,
Eddie
