Where's this fan light you're talking about? Next to fan lever?

Do you have the upgrade fever yet Barry? What's next? VDO gauges? Side markers? Turn signals?

------ Follow up post added June 3rd, 2011 10:10 PM ------

Thanks for the tip. I don't think these have ever worked on mine. I will stick some new bulbs in there.

No one has this?

Carl

I did notice I didn't need to bend anything when I helped Mark put his LEDs in. Oh well. I guess being safe wasnt a bad thing.

What bulbs did you get for the fan? From Superbrightleds?

Yeah, the only bulbs the needs modification are the SW rear wiper/defroster controls. Mine fried so I freaked and trimmed every wedge bulb i had only to discover it wasn't necessary. Still have to replace the fried wire. It's part of the main harness so that ought to be fun.

Yeah from superbrightleds. I went with the 360s. They work well just not used to the green hulk glow. I am so sick of pulling the dash apart that they will stay for a bit. Replaced the fan and hot cold controls too.

I ended up fixing mine with some plastic glue. Can't think of the brand but you rub a marker on then dab the glue. It came out perfectly. Since this piece hold no weight it worked fine. If I find a replacement I will let you know.

Sounds like a plan! I was thinking of the glue route until then also.

I just replaced all my dash gauges for VDO and I noticed that I don't have lights for fan/vents. Nowhere to be found. How are those wired? Are they on their own or are they wired in with one of the dash gauges?

Separate wires. You don't have the plugs just hanging out back there?

I found one of them. It was wired in serially with the tach light but I removed it and made the tach have a light on it's own. That way if one fails both don't go out. The fan control light is gone and the one I did find is broken. Not sure it's worth the effort to source and wire in two new ones.

Are they part of the stock rover instrument harness (has yellow label on it)?

I did notice that the socket holder for the one I did find is similar to the SW dash button bulb holders which would mean you could short it if you switch to LED.

I would assume it is all part of the stock harness. I have seen it in my 94 and mark's 95.

Hmm. Strange. There are no orphan wires in my stock instrument harness. The one I found was attached to the tach. Somebody must have messed with it. Mines a 95 NAS as well.
