LED headlights for an early defender

I'm looking to convert my headlights and other lights to LED, I have a 1989. As the wiring isn't set up for a simple plug and play replacement with the h4 converter does anyone have any recommendation on how this could be accomplished. Sorry if this is a little ignorant.

It is plug and play. The headlight connectors never changed. H4 is the same connector as a 7" sealed beam.

H4 headlamps plug right in, no converter necessary

it has been covered in past posts and on many levels, light bars, light bars and headlights, exterior lighting, interior lighting, cluster lights, complete vehicle lighting, brands, styles part numbers, glitches, fixes, pros, cons. etc.
do a search on "led" lighting and your will get a huge result.

you will love the results of your conversion, the headlights tend to have a distinctive cut off that takes a little getting used to.

Did you end up upgrading your headlights? If so, what did you go with? I am also looking to do this for my '86 Defender but not sure which type of HL to go with. Would be interested in hearing what you decided on.
