LED Conversion

Hello,

I am planning to convert the exterior lights on my 1988 110 to LED. Wondered if anyone had any feedback on the process and the best manufacturer to source the lights from.

Thanks
Ben

I did that to my '85. Defenders NW had a special on the kit. I still have a problem with the rate changing when the brake light is on (barely noticeable) but that will be remedied when I re-wire the lights during the new chassis job. I've been very happy with the lights. I swapped the bulbs out on the fender-mounted turn signals also. I know Rovers North sells the kit also.

Good luck!

There are a bunch of thread on this subject. Best to search.

There are four different options.

Paul,

When you did your LED conversion did you think about adding the rectangular LED's that fit into the front bumper? Trying to decide whether they would look tacky.

Thanks
Ben

Ben once you have all four corners turn signals led's they will hyper flash.
solution # 1 leave at least one regular bulb on each side.
solution # 2 replace the flasher relay with electronic unit made for led lighting.
solution # 3 wire resistors on every circuit to fool the circuit into thinking there is regular bulb.
led's do not load the circuit as it was designed, thus the last two solutions.

there are a bunch of diffrent options.

I just did my entire truck with a kit i bought of EBAY UK from bolt on bits.

they sell NAS and Row LED light kits....in just about every combination you can think of.

they also come with the LED adjustable resistor thing that makes them all flash perfect.

was super easy....plug and play..

Funny to see the same area missing paint as mine had. When I first removed the top it took the paint off the cabs roof edge.
