Land Rover cell phone....anyone?

Not sure about stateside, bue here in the UK, Land rover have just announced "their" new super duper water proof, shock proof, everything proof new cell phone

Now, apparently it's just a LR badged Sonim XP3 quest, readily available in the US, but not here (Well, unless you like paying 300 for one!)

but supposidly fairly cheap in the US.... can anyone confirm that it's cheap over there?

And would anyone be willing to post one over to the UK?

Cheers

Jamie

From the website you posted it is not cheap. $600 with no LR badge . So 350 BPs is about the same. just buy the one over there from LR.

Its a cool phone but have a go with it first. I got one and didnt get on with it. Its BIG and the screen can be hard to see as its set back a bit. Very cool to put it in a glass of water and ring it

ok... so I need a waterproof, shatterproof, horsehoofproof, truckproof, bombproof and leeproof cell phone
and just found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ectorid=229529 Wondering if there were more thoughts on use in the usa (t-mobile to be exact) or maybe this one? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
any feedback would be appreciated. While I would prefer not to have a phone I do need one. I don't care for frills but must handle spills and basic ab-use. (phone, txt and emergency camara use)

You don't need a 500$ phone to do that. We do it all the time here with 10$ phones .

A few years ago I upgraded to a Samsung Rugby with my AT&T contract. According to the manufacturer, it's the first phone built to military specifications--waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and with all the other gizmos (camera, Bluetooth, push-to-talk, GPS) that most phones have these days. I've used it extensively while hiking and hunting in the soggy Pacific Northwest, and it's as tough as they come. No Land Rover logo, though...

Old technology, exceedingly expensive, poor battery life, small lo res screen.

the Rugby II, Casio GZone or motorola tundra out preform it in every way with the exception of 100% waterproofness. Look for the video of the VP of somnim crackin the screen of the XP at CES 2 years ago
