KONI HT RAID Shocks

In looking for a 2" lift for my 110 I came across the KONI HT RAID shocks. Four of these would cost around $1000 plus shipping from the UK. Is anyone using these and are they really worth the money ?. Devon4x4 told me the premium package was the KONI HT shocks plus OME springs. The alternate was OME shocks and springs.

You missed out on a set I had (new) for $400. I have them on my LWB and like them more than OME/Billstein/etc..

Just do a search on this board and check out Doug's comments (Doug races his D110 and he purchased a set from us).

Good luck!!

The Koni Raids are the ones I would most like to put on my truck - although the Bilsteins are pretty good shocks I've broken two rear Bilsteins and my confidence level in them is not high ( I carry a spare rear shock ).

My next set of shocks will be a set of Koni Raids as I value dependability and performance above all else.

I've had great luck with Koni's on other cars so I'm a big fan of Koni.

I thought the Bilsteins were too hard.

Agreed and their tech line is useless. With Koni's being adjustable are they less harsh?

YES!! I have them on the lowest setting at they feel great!!

I haven't run OME or Bilstein on any of my trucks in a long time and had forgotten how harsh the ride was. It also helps that I don't have OME/RTE/BB springs anymore.

The Bilsteins are a bit harsh - I'd like the adjustability of the Konis especially since I have an ARB bumper, roof rack and roof tent.
I'm planning on putting a set of factory HD Rover springs eventually as well - I run 235/85R16 tires so I only want about 1" of lift anyway.

The end point of the work on the 110 is a trip to Morroco so I need something which will take the weight of the camping equipment and the rough desert driving. Am leaning to the Konis and 3" OME springs.

I removed the OMEs 'cause they weren't giving me enough lift and they were too hard and sagged too much with heavy load. My last trip to Canada I had 900 lbs of gear plus 2 passengers and the OME sagged too much. So much that a female cop in Montreal questioned me for a good 20 mins on way my truck was soo low in the back.

Best springs I have for heavy loads and a soft ride are the SR. The springs on my 95DI are rated for 500lbs of gear and 3" lift and they don't sag.

But the springs are better than other brands I mentioned

Especially the progressive rate coils. Way too bouncy.

People have bad things to say about Scorpion because they steal designs and resell them under their own name.

Yeah, that really sucks. The other day I purchased a set of TF lowered rear shock mounts and guess what, they are just like Scorpion Racings shock mounts. Now I know SR has been around longer then TF so I guess TF copied SR.

Oh, I also saw some diff gurds from KMC that looked exactly like QTs.... go figure!!!! KMC showed up at MAR back in 2005 so I know that QT has been around longer.

Should I go on????

I've also broken a Bilstein with very few miles on it. Would like to hear how the Konis perform.

Like I said, Doug has used the Koni on his D110 while racing thru the desert and seemed please with them. I have a video somewhere on my pc of him racing his 110. Real life proof, not speculation or "I heard that .....""
