yeah, go to your local hardware store. I might have a blank or two i could sale. They arent hard to get if you have one already, might be hard for a stolen truck without keys.

I am not 100% sure, but if it is like a disco I/II, if you go to your local dealer with proof of ownership they can pull the key code and cut you a key while you wait (assuming they have a blank in stock) if you don't have a key now.

You can get the uncut keys from George at Rovers Down South for $4.00. Any ACE or TrueValue Hardware can cut them. Home Depot and Lowes can't as they have a different type of key machine.

They won't cut genuine blanks, but I was able to get a duplicate ignition key made at Lowe's by using one of their in-house key blanks: Lowe's # 27.

How about door keys?

I assume you've been discussing ignition keys...

Anyone replace their door keys with "real" ones? By real I mean not the stock blank that's a POS bit of cheap metal. I've already had one fail - cut in half - and the other one is not too far behind.

I went to a local locksmith shop and had all three keys cut. ignition, doors, and cubby box. Total cost was like 25 dollars and I had 3 copies of every key made. Local true value/ace/ do-it-best etc. didn't have the blank for the ignition and recommended the locksmith.
