Is this the wrong tensioner? (300tdi)

Assembling the front of the motor this weekend had me scratching my head - the A/C tensioner is in the generally correct location according to the manual (see first attached image) but when routing the belt it rubs on the nut that holds the tensioner pulley (see other photos).

The manual also mentions 3 tensioner retaining bolts - this one only has one. Maybe this is the wrong part?

Does someone have a photo of their 300 tdi A/C tensioner pulley setup?

Well, I'm no expert on every possible configuration of the 300tdi, but your tensioner looks nothing like mine. Mine's exactly like the diagram. I have mine where I can get a good picture at the moment. I'll try to post up a picture tonight if no one else chimes in first.

Wait a second...did you assemble that tensioner? It looks like you might have the tensioner pulley mounted to the wrong hole in the plate. It should be in the offset hole and the other three should be concentric.

That indeed is the wrong type of tensioner.

Here is one in place:

as mentioned above, it bolts on using the 3 bolts that hold on the FIP pulley cover, and you loosen these 3 bolts to enable the tensioner "arm" to pivot around (using a 1/2" drive lever) and tension the belt.

OK, thanks for the photo - that confirms I simply do not have the right tensioner. The tensioner I have was clearly 'rigged' by someone.
I don't have that 3-hole plate w/ the tensioner pulley attached to it - I have 'something else'.
Anyone know where I can get one of those slightly closer than the UK? RDS does not have it, I just asked George.
