Is this a TD5 ecu?

I just got the truck home and found this under the right side seat. I assume its an ECU, it also has the fly by wire gas (?) pedal.

Obligatory dog pic

I meant for this to be posted in the Defender Tech Discussion section

Yep that is what it looks like. The under seat fuse box is the black box behind it. You should have some more fuses on the inside firewall. What engine are you going to install?

Yes, TD5 ECU. Same coolant tank for TD5 as well. I'd be interested in the pedal as a spare.

Nice truck and dogs. Mark

Are you going to get a new wiring harness? You could probably get a late 300 Tdi main harness that would work pretty well. If the dash is complete you could even use the electronic dash. I have some part numbers if you need it.

I was hoping to use the harness thats in there, the TD5. My guess is that there would be a lot of extra wires.
My other option is to use the one from the 1983 110.

You can download a 2002 Td5 wiring diagram off the UK web. It should point you in the correct direction on the wiring and colors. Some of the forums also have a blog on how to convert the Td5 Gauge wiring to work with a 300 Tdi sending units, temperature gauge. You need to get a new sending unit, green, and then play with a couple of the wires. I purchased the gauge wiring harness that was for the last of the 300 Tdi's running the Td5 electronic gauges.
