Is a 65a Alternator Enough?

300Tdi with A/C is the new setup. I'll also have some type of basic sound system and LED headlights. Will the standard 65a alternator be enough?

It'd cover the basics, but I'd opt for higher. Particularly with an amplified system, a winch, heated seats or other items. I'd consider it a minimum and doesnlt leave much room for those other items. If I'd have a choice, I'd go higher. But for a basic truck, sure.

Probably okay. But with a 300TDI, you can get a stock 100 Amp alternator, so you might as well put that on.

I was selling some new Bosch 100 Amp ones here for $219, but now the price has gone up to over $300, so I don't have any more.
May be able to order you one, but they are not cheap anymore.
Was told they hadn't had a price increase since 2004 until this month.
I would go with a 100 amp if you can find one.

Story of my life Robert. I was waiting till I needed the alternator (had a/c installed) before I purchased one. I'm trying to not be a hoarder. Oh well, I guess I'll pony up and buy one from the UK unless one of our resident hoarded can spare one of their spares.

I posted up a last call on them and no one bought them here, so listed them on eBay and they both sold in about 48 hrs.

Dave - we have the AMR5425G in stock and we've sold/installed 14 or so in the last 2-years as an easy upgrade

Awesome! When I get back in town I'll order one up. When are you going to post up the Allisport items and pricing?
