Iron Goat dash?

Anybody try one of these? It looks like a neat way to add switches and a couple of extra gauges.

I got one. haven't installed it yet. I'll take pics when I'm done. looks awesome though. the switches are from the same manufacturer as the ARB switches. If you go to the switch manufacturer site, you can swap out the rocker cover with a logoed rocker for almost any function.

Actually I think we'd like to see some pics of the installation - especially after you trim the lower dash panel but before you put the new panel on. I'm wondering how much of the cowl vents it blocks too.

The whole thing looks like it should be pretty sturdy - I'm probably going to get one too but I'd welcome the evaluation of a "first guinea pig".

One thing . . .

They don't mention this until you read the instructions, but it is necessary to bend the shifter in order to clear the front the new dash panel without your hand hitting it (at least on a manual transmission).

I bought one off ebay about a mont ago and will be installing it soon (I hope).

Definitely agree that it is a good spot for a CB.

I will try to post some pics if/when it happens.

Greg.

Here is mine installed. I don't think Pendy had to bend the shifter. nothing close to hitting. Still need to get gauges and assign the switches.

Mark, that IG looks great! Oh, the decisions b/t that and the Mudd UK. Why did you choose the IG over the Mudd?

S, it is the new style LR A/C. M&D Engineering bought it on my behalf and through it in the crate with my 2.8 (that's a nice xmas gift combo isn't it?). It's made for LR by a company called CoolAir in the UK, and I have the contact #. Same one sold by RN.

Andrew,
I went with the Goat the moment I found it. MuddUK version came out several months later.

For all. CoolAir UK contact is Reg Ford. reg.ford@coolairuk.ltd.uk

He is the most email responsive fellow I have worked with yet from the UK.

rds sells complete a/c kits as well, I bought one from him for my 300 tdi.

Oh and I install that IG dash and I had to bend the shift lever a bit. I don't think it would rub, but it was closer than I wanted. I really like the setup.

I just finished installing mine (had to have the new stereo for the trip to MAR) - still need to wire a few things up but its functional enough for the trip to Virginia and back.
I didn't have to bend the shift lever at all.
