Interior Door Handle

Yes I already searched the forum . . .

Has anyone had any trouble with the interior door handle not opening the door?

In the Station Wagon I have devised a way to carefully move the casing forward with my thumb and then opening the latch with my fingers. If I don't do this then the thing won't open. Most valets, wives, and father-in-laws seem to be frustrated with this feature . . . .

I however, don't seem to have any problems at all

YEP! Dave Souza's passenger door has to be opened from the outside. I don't know if he has fixed it or not though.

I had a similear problem on my 94. The door handle mechanism was worn enough that the handle was hitting the upper part of the interior vinyl panel as I opened the door, preventing it from fully working the latch. I had to trim the hole there to allow the handle a bit more room to move and the problem was fixed.

I don't know if the mechanism is similar to that of a RRC but the same thing happened to my sisters '95 RRC. I popped off the door panel and choked up the linkage. over the years it can stretch a bit.
