Does anyone have the heart to tell the Editor that he bought a Japanese Spec Defender 90?

yes essentially the same, but his whole article was about the trucks originally imported here. Pretty hilarious!

You might mention to him too that his "Grail" has a running lamp out.

I think it's a great article that could only inspires the desire to people who don't have Defenders to either repsect them more or create more demand for the NAS truck. I saw my first two NAS Defender's in a remote area of Alaska and my boss (while I was in the Coast Guard) gave me a 2 hour lecture on the history. Fast forward 10 years... I finally got mine.

On another note: Who gives a shit if its a Jap spec truck the guy is happy with his Defender!

Me too, well put. I always liked them, until I rented a 110 for camping in Australia then I "got it". Just like you, I decided then and there I'd find a way to get one. (just changed my avatar to me backing it onto the ferry going to Fraser Island, Australia).
