Installing a Napa Stepper Motor p# 2-1738

I am not so sure about the stepper motor anymore (even after a good cleaning), so I am picking up a new one this morning.
I am getting the napa part... is there any special sequence or re-programing to do while installing this?
This is for a 1995 Hotwire with a 4.6 and RPI's Chip.
Will I have to break that seal and adjust the idle?

Also which way should I move the plug wires over to retard the timing? (even with a 50/50 chance I would rather know). I am running about 12deg btdc @ 600 RPM.

Thanks for the help on the other btw... This needed a new post.
