I seem to remember a tread about a shop here in the States that overhauls injectors but cant find it now, anybody know where I can get new nozzles and serviced?

I see a chap in the UK sells nozzles on ebay, are these bosch or made in china

Thanks

Search eBay for the Ford FOTE-D5A injectors, #280150943. From what I've read, they are cheap and plentiful and drop straight in.

Just a small note here..........

The Ford part you reference is a GASOLINE injector. Drink some more coffee, you'll come around to the proper fuel.

Local diesel shops can rebuild them for you. Find a local shop that can service the brand (Bosch, Lucas?) of injector you have and drop them off. I rebuilt the ones in my BJ60 Cruiser locally using a friends pop tester. Depending on the injector type, its sometimes cheaper to rebuild than replace.

I need more coffee myself. We discussed rebuild this past spring (can't seem to find the correct search terms to dig it up) but seems to me the person in the group who does it is in Virginia. I bought new injectors myself. Found the company on eBaY, went to their web site...and they were CHEAPER there. Genuine Bosch, but the boxes said they were made in India.

This is where I bought them http://www.lrspareparts.com/eshop/

here's the item http://www.lrspareparts.com/eshop/ca...RR3339&x=0&y=0

If you order them, you have to buy the copper seals separate, I think Kevin @ RovahFarm carries them, ERR4621

I had a set of injectors rebuilt by Metro Fuel Injection, (formerly H&L Diesel Injection). Though the shop was bought by Metro, the same gentleman runs the shop. Steve (proprietor) did a great job on my injectors and made my 25 year old diesel run like new, as well as pickup about 20% more economy. The number is (860) 526-5941. They are in Deep River, CT.

I would think just about any diesel injector shop could give yours a good cleaning which might take care of your problem. Finding parts for them in the States is a bit problematic. I took mine to Valley Injector here in Virginia and had them tested. After a good cleaning they all had a good spray pattern. Make sure you order new crush washers for them as I do not think they are available anyplace here. (at least I couldn't find anything close)

John,
The injectors screw apart and the new nozzle just screws on. No need to pay a shop to do that for you. Buy the new tips/nozzles screw them on and Bob's your uncle.

While true, and I've done this on the side of the trail, there are a lot of little bits inside the nozzle that need to be put back in the correct order and orientation. So take pictures when you disassemble!
