Injector Replace / Rebuild / Nozzle Replace

My 19J which has 82K miles is ready for some preventive maint since it's new to me...what is the consensus for injectors...do most replace or have them rebuilt...and can the nozzle just be replaced or just replace the whole thing or just rebuild...I know new ones are about $50 each...

as a side note, does anyone have a good diagram of the whole fuel system for a 19J...the whole diesel thing is new to me and I see 5 or so pipes coming in / out of the fuel filter and I know there is a pump and then the other main fuel device....which has a small leak which I assume prob just needs some gaskets replaced...

The Fuel tank seems to be pressurized (not a lot) so there is something going on...

Here, you need this; http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrov...TD_p17-167.pdf

Do yourself a favor and print out pages 105 to 151, put em in a 3 ring binder and make a copy of what ever you are going to work on that day and take it out to the vehicle to get greasy.

Generally you can take the injectors to a diesel shop and get them tested for free. Timing is everything on these motors. The injectors open at around 1900psi so don't just take them off and test em with the engine cranking.

NEVER let the injector spray hit your skin, the injectors put out so much pressure in the spray the diesel will penetrate you and you most likely will die of blood poisoning.

Shop manual has good information on all the Diesel engines.

Most things I have read regarding the subject says, yes it will kill you.
But then there's always that rare someone who beats the odds.
