cool seats and if they are like the other versions of the Sporster CS (with lower side bolsters and a removable bottom) they are great IMHO - For me.
However - i personally don't see any need to buy them - i am going to redo my stock seats and make a change to the lumbar to make them more comfortable for me.

Chris is 100% dead on - seats are something that are highly personal - for instance i have Recaro Pole Positions in my Cup car which i love for that car. most people hate them in a street car since they are a bitc... to get in and out of.
ymmv...

Those SVX seare ARE very comfy, they're quite wide, and the side bits arn't as high as normal rally recaros, so you don't bruise your thigh each time you get in and out.

The 1400 each was a littler conservative though....try 3294 EACH!!!

Although if anyone gets hold of Ian Boughn, AKA Porny on the forums, of IRB developments, he sometimes has them for sale at nowhere near that price!

From what i hear, they're almost the same as the recaros in that LR4x4 link... but not quite the same.

and the bottom doesn't come out AFAIK

I think you'll find differences between 2 OEM seats even. Maybe it's just condition but I find my D90 seats perfectly comfortable on long trips, but less so in my 110. It's not the cloth versus vinyl, so I guess the foam pads are worn or a different kind.

i think they cool. that being said; racing style seats in an off-road vehicle? doesnt seem to make alot of sense to me but maybe you never take it off-road.

I think high seat and side bolsters are very handy offroad.
Because you are frequently jumping in and out of the rig, I don't even use the seat belts unless it gets very technical.
With PRP offroad seats in my 1991 RRC trail rig, I'm held in firmly without using the 5 point harness. With the stock seats did not feel that way.
Also, I can't count the times in my D90 with stock seats that I'd get out in the middle of a rock climb or descent to further scout the trail and after I released the belts I realized that I wouldn't be able to re-buckle them because the rig's angle had set off the seatbelt inertia lockup feature. It isn't pleasant to finish a nasty section without any belts.
In spite of that, I've driven to the Rubicon (7.5 hours each way), run the trail and driven home and felt great in the D90 300 TDi so I'm with "the stock seats are very comfortable" side.

Not entirely correct. I have 2 pairs OE SVX seats in my shop AND a pair of the similar Sportster Recaros.

From the OE seats, the bottom bit DOES come out to get to the battery.

On the Recaro Sportsters the base bit is fixed !

Email me directly at riverhouse@planet.nl for prices for SVX bits, seats, lights, badges, side steps , I even bought a couply of OE Garmin SATNAV's and OE CD / Radios.

thanks,Michae
