Importing R380

I am considering importing an Ashcroft R380 rebuilt gearbox. The shipment would be about $2000

Does anyone have any experience and advice on the customs formalities and duty payable? Is it a no brainer or are their wrinkles to avoid?

Thanks!

That's the automatic tranny, right? I don't know if he does those, but I was told he rebuilds LT230s, R380s and LT77s.

It is usuallly pretty straightforward, I have imported a few and have transfer box being shipped from the UK to Richmond airport next week. Duties are minimal

x2 on roadside rob (aka southwestrovers) for manuals and eriksson for autos, but frankly the autoboxes rarely go bad and I would just get a used one and call it a day.
