importing for off highway use ?

does anyone know can you import a defender less than 25 years old if you have no intentions of licencing it (just for offroad) or do you think they know we would just swap vin tags and drive it anyway???

Why not just build a 1983, 84, 85 into what you want and then import it?

You can do it, but the expenses and vagaries of bonding a vehicle are substantial and you are on your own for that.

In general the answer is no, since the vehicle will be capable of being driven on the roads (i.e. only bona-fide race cars and the like get this exception).

You can, it all depends on HOW CREATIVE you want to be, and what intense are the chances you are willing to take.

When you answer those questions to yourself, you'll most likely answer the original one ;-)

Well,

You just sold a defender. And you finally got the money wired to you today. So I am sure someone is going to come out of the woodwork and tell you that you can have what you want. Like you pointed out it is a buyers market now.

I for one would like to see you apologize to Clark Bowen for calling him a sxx afender. Before I decide to offer any advice or even try to care about what you want. Or maybe I can do a nationwide H1 Hummer search for you. Might be a better fit.
