im thinking about buying a defender

has anybody have advise on buying a secondhand defender. what i should look out for, things/probelms i should look out for.

Clive this forum is chock full of questions like this with comprehensive answers. The members who hang out here get this question all the time and it's somewhat tedious to respond.

I strongly recommend you do some reading and come back with specific questions once you have educated yourself on the basics.

If you really are in the Uk you should know that this is a US biased site with little knowledge of the tdi and less if the td5 and forget the dura torq ford units.
Other than that we're pretty good.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
