Hey Jeff, I did a little snooping around, I am not sure you need it there, I have taken a few off and there was never any sealant on the break, it is not sealing anything so I am not sure why it is there. I have never put anything on there either when reassembling either. You might be able to find the stuff at the dealer or at least ask what they use. Or maybe Rob D will chime in here as he has taken a few apart himself.

Thanks Mike, ya i kinda figured that...maybe they were using the stuff for keeping water and dirt out???? BTW, is the trans brake adjustable say like rear drums for parking..poked around in the workshop and overhaul manuals but didn't see anything on it...i'm assuming it's connected to the hand brake in some way??

thanks
jeff
