How to tell if there is a spring lift?

I am a proud owner of a 85 Defender 90. I am really excited, but have a lot of questions. It's always fun to try and find out what previous owners have done to their toys! This is what I know for sure, it has four wheel disc brakes supposedly from a disco, 200 TDi, and running 265/75/16 on what look to be wolf steel wheels. He told me that there is a two inch spring lift, I know from previous vehicles that you can measure from bump stop to axle tube to tell actual suspension lift height. Does anyone know what a stock ride height should measure? And the right place to measure from? Any help would be much appreciated!
Here are a few pics now and a pic from two years ago in Ireland on 1200 mile trek
