Stupid question but where do you add motor oil to your truck? Since you have the early valve cover with no oil fill, and the later block that deleted the big filler neck.

I wonder if the engine number was ground off at some point. Or maybe it was a replacement casting. I think there are other differences between the 2.25 and 2.5 blocks, something about additional webbing in the casting visible from outside.

I've always added oil straight through the top of the valve cover...just lift up the round black cover (with vaccum to carb) and poured straight in through the opening in the valve cover. Does that answer the question?
