How to remove driver door lock cylinder???

I am trying to remove the cylinder out of my lock on my '97 ST. I have a new lock without cylinder. I have searched here and googled and cannot find any helpful information on how to remove the key barrel from the lock. I have tried sticking a pin into a small hole on the cylinder housing with key inserted, this did not work. The page in the workshop manual is equally unhelpful. What is the trick here?

IIRC there should be a hole that you can put a pick into to unlock a small detente. This should allow you to insert the old key and remove the lock cylinder.

i had a similar problem. I was able to get the passenger side out easily but the drivers side was stuck. You put a small pick/nail whatever in the hole and as I recall turn the key a little to pull it out. You may have to spray some lube in there as it is likely gummed up.
