How to clean paint off the stock Al Wheels

Hey guys,

The previous owner of my D-90 spray painted the wheels with black spray paint.
Is there a way I can take this off, and restore the wheels to the original silver finish?
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.

thanks,

-arbi

The silver finish is just paint, so I recommend you sand them down to give the finish something to stick to and get some Wurth wheel paint. Its good stuff.

I've used aircraft paint stripper in the past to remove paint from metal... not sure about Alloy though. Its mean stuff, you have to be careful.

I was thinking of Powder coating my stock alloys black... Arbi, do you think the wheels would have looked better powder coated? Anyone know where to find pics of a 90 on black alloys?
