How much do blown Discos go for?

Sometime over the next year i will have a spare 200tdi. I was thinking it would be nice to buy a blown disco and put the spare diesel in it for my wife to use.

What are these going for?

I found a 98 i think with 166k for 800 with some cosmetic damage.

$500 - $2000, depending on condition, OEM, aftermarket parts and etc.

Find one that is pre OBDII and that was a 5 speed already and save yourself a shitpile of complication as well as eventual DMV issues.

I have seen a older Red 5 speed disco for sale, here?, for $3,000.00 or something. It was lifted with RTE front bumper and lockers.

It has to do on how delusional the owner is.

In today's market... I wouldn't pay more than $500.

Look into the OBDII rules and that '98.

Not if you don't mind throwing 3-5K worth of time labor and money at a $1000 truck, which will only be worth $2000 when you're done.

Luckily where I am in nys if it is diesel it does not get a obd2 test and they do not cross check the VIN.
Its just a saftey inspection. If its 96 or earlier gas or diesel saftey inspection only.

Saftey inspection is: no hanging wires, no cracks or chips in wipe of wipers, good bulbs, horn and seat belts

If you want slow try an early Series with the ORIGINAL diesel engine, as a friend of mine said years ago you did not need to slow down for bends and you couldn't if you wanted to anyway. Pity the Disco 200tdi is not a drop in there are plenty in the UK and would be an intersting project.
