How do you know what you have?

How do I tell what trans & transferbox I have. I have a 1984 110 with a 200tdi, but that was put in at some time, who knows when, I think it had a v8 to begin with. I have gotten under to see if I could find some numbers or something but nope. I would like to change the fluids but need to know for sure what I have. Would appreciate any help. Thank you.

If you have a 4spd with a vacuum actuated diff-lock then you still have the LT95 tranmission/transfercase from the V8. If you have a 5spd with reverse next to first then you have either an LT85 (which was also fitted to the V8) or LT77. I think it's most likely that when the 200tdi was fitted, an LT77 was swapped in as well. If reverse is below fifth then you have an R380. 5spds will have LT230 transfercases.

And you use redline mtl in both the r380 and lt85 no idea on the 95 but that I believe is v8 only so unlikely to bolt to a 200tdi.

LT95 uses engine oil.

and the transfer box on all of them (LT230) uses EP90
