The WWII jeeps (Willys & Ford) had trianular stowage compartments in the rear portion of the wheel well. Great little unused space on most vehicles. Would make a nice stowage area in a D90 if planned at the factory. IH Scouts had similar boxes in front of the rear wheels in the fender wheel. I think 109 Series trucks had boxes in the rear fender wells, one for a spare tire recess?
