HOT Bulkhead

My bulkhead - directly behind my panels on the driver's side- is getting HOT when driving for more than about 30 minutes. Is there something that I can do to make it not so hot? Should I have anything looked at or is this normal. It gets hot enough to warm up my feet.

Thanks,

Marcus

Mine does the exact same thing. 100 degrees and open top rover make the heat baking my feet feel like ac!

You could add a heat shield to the outside surface between the bulkhead and the exhaust downpipe.

I think there are a bunch of threads about heat shields and/or adding Dynamat or something similar...I know that on a 95 degree day traveling at highway speed across Rt 66 we checked the bulkhead temp with a digital thermometer and got readings in excess of 130 degrees!

My first step was adding thicker floor mats!

Opening the dash vents will suck the heat up out of the footwells. I always keep them open on hot days.

I meant to say behind the pedals- not panels. The floor doesn't get particularly hot.
