hooking a LT77 up to a 300tdi

I know it is possible. Is it a much better route to just source a r380 or can this be done easily?

What have you got under there already? They're different lengths and the 300tdi is mounted in a different location to the 200tdi so you get into prop-shaft length issues.

the clutch covers are different. If you swap the 200 tdi clutch cover to the 300/r380 one then the r380 will bolt right up to the 200 and vice versa. The clutch cover is the aluminum bit the bolts to the rear of the block that the bell housing in turn bolts to.

I'm probably going to bolt scrap the idea and try 300tdi, R380. Really the car should be a five speed. It was never intended to be an auto when it was all started.
