Hood Cable

I bought a new hood cable for my 110. The handle broke on my old one. It still works but I have to use pliars to grab whats left of the handle. Anyway I bought a new one and it comes with the cable and housing. Do I have to replace everything? Would it be easier and is it possible to just pull the cable out of the housing?

Basically I want to know how to do it
thanks

It can't be done. You have to replace your truck.

Barry, here is what I would do

1. Look at your new cable. Can you pull the cable and handle out of the sheath? If no, then replace everything
2. Pull the plastic grill, undo the bolt that attaches the cable to the latch, go inside the vehicle and pull out the old cable
3. insert new cable/handle into the existing sheath, lubricate as necessary
4. feed end of cable into latch and tighten bolt. You may need to adjust it a bit.

I would recommend examining the existing sheathing before deciding to just replace the cable. If it's damaged, it's likely that it will cause the new cable to fail prematurely. Replacing the whole setup isn't much harder, depending on how much trouble you have feeding around the fender.

Anyone find someplace that sells the early style without the cable? Also, anyone know if the early style will work with the NAS 110 style extended front panel?
