Hit brakes, lose speedometer

This problem seemed to spring up today. When I hit that brakes, the speedometer dies. Release the brake pedal speedo comes right back.

Any ideas?

I've not experienced the loss of the speedo reading but I do encounter other speedo-related problems which are well-documented over at ECR. My problem is losing the mileage reading which although ECR used to be able to fix by taking the unit out and doing some tweaks/cleaning the connections etc, they've since abandoned this due to extra costs and now recommend sending it to an LA-based firm (whose name escapes me - sorry).

The loss only at braking would lead me to think its a connection somewhere rather than some sort of unit failure. Or is that not necessarily correct?

Dude this has to be due to the solar flare or something. 3 crazy electrical faults on the forum in a single day? That just makes no sense.
