High pitched idle--D90 NAS 1994

Hi all, I'm a new D90 owner, but long time admirer--I have a 1994 NAS D90 soft top and have been noticing this high pitched hum/noise coming from the front end of the vehicle during idle, and persists until I get to second gear, then disappears...I read it could be the hood bushings??? Before I replace these, any thoughts would help. Thanks. Brian

When you find the hood bushings take photo ... No idea what they might be. Does the pitch vary with engine speed?

Does it shut off suddenly with the gear change or does it gradually change?

Sounds like its the hybrid electric drive to me ...

haha I was thinking the same thing.

It's not coming from the alternator or your speakers, right?

The pitch does not change with speed and disappears somewhat gradually once I've shifted. These are the bushings.

Ya, figured WD40 is worth a try, if in fact that ends up being the problem--I'll let you know.
I'm in Huntington, NY (on Long Island)
