High Idle

I travel a lot for work and I left my D-90 in my covered car port for around a week. I got home and it would idle around 2K RPM for a few seconds, then drop down. After I would give it some gas it would do the same thing. It did not stall or idle low and it eventually went away by the second day I was home. Any ideas? Maybe just something needs to be cleaned?

I'm chasing the same thing. Have an idea its either the stepper needing to be cleaned or a vac leak somewhere. Just haven't gotten around to fixing it

I looked for a vac leak & could not find one. i readjusted my idle & alls well.
if you adjust idle use 2 clamps on the hose & slowly release when done

I had a problem with that one time and it was nothing more than the plastic barrel adjuster on the accelerator cable slipping in and out of its mounting point (at the bracket on the motor). After minor fiddling all was OK.

My V8 accelerator cable is long gone, but you can follow it from the corner of the footwell up to the left side of the motor behind the plenum if I remember correctly.
