Definitely a waste of money, I bought a set for my 200Tdi that I had back in the UK when I was young and impressionable, (as opposed to now when I'm a bit older and impressionable) they did nothing noticeable.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

Thanks for the insight guys. Sorry for all the stupid questions, I am a new defender owner and am new to this stuff. I love working on her and am just frightened to screw her up (her=defender).
