You could just go with a roof tent... although these are sweet.
Do you know how much they cost? If it isn't out of this world I may honestly be interested I bet we could save on shipping.
Looks like I'm going to drive to Chile in about 8 months so it is time to look in to better options.
FYI - I have an eezi-awn and it is great... easy up easy down, but for more long term living being contained in side the truck is a really nice option.
Try just calling them, I bet someone speaks english... I bet shipping will be $$$.
Whooa whooa whoa... Just poked around on the site and it said 5,900 euros for one of the pop tops... thats about 7,500$$. too rich for my blood.
...but I really like the idea.... you coudl probably have one made here for cheaper than what that is going to be by the time it gets here.
The pristine 110 from out east went to another here in CO. Somewhere in the 970 area code so I'm sure I'll be tortured with what could have been every now and again.
Then I looked into grey market trucks and decided it was too risky legally and concerning insurance. It it's VIN'd as a '70, insurance wouldn't cover much so I decided to stay away.
Looks like I'll hang tight until the '83s start rolling across the border.
In the meantime, I've been thinking about a '55 Porsche Spyder replica...
That's a bummer. Yeah, the grey market ones scared me too, and given the price of 110s, my plan was the same as yours. Then the right 110 landed in my lap. You never know. Spyder replica...nice. Must be from the guy building them in Boulder. I've eyeballed those for a while now. Good luck!
When the 83-84s come over I think you have to try to find one from a dry country. All the UK ones are rust buckets that I have seen, plus you probably want one that is LHD and an upgrade to an EFI V8 or Tdi. That being said, I love the LT95 (assuming it is in good shape) and the 3.5 carb is not too bad on power and the interior on the county spec V8s is pretty nice.
