Help Tracking down Rattles..

So I have this very bothersome rattle that sounds like it is coming from the right rear. It is not the typical tire carrier noise (which is a more 'robust' sound), it is a very 'tinny' sounding rattle, almost like a heat shield would be, but I can't track it down...

Every bump seems to make it 'sing', and I can even make it happen by kicking a tire hard enough when its parked, but I haven't been able to track down what it is, and I'm pulling my hair out..

I started by looking at all the aftermarket suspension pieces (SG Stage III system), but they all seem to be tight, and don't seem to be the culprits..

Was wondering if anyone had tracked down a similar rattle and could share what it was..

Thanks in advance..

Sounds like you need to get under the truck while someone else kicks the tire hard enough to make it rattle.

Yeah, my wife couldn't kick it hard enough, so I gave her a 5 lb mall to hit the tire with, but I still can't find it... LOL!

If it's a tinny sound, I'm voting for the mud shield on the brake being loose.

Kick your muffler, maybe it is rusting from inside out and falling apart.

This is such a funny thread - totally rover. And I may have a very similar problem. Hoping that my super high pitched and apparently untraceable squeaking is gone after the body/paint/bushing/cleaning work we are doing. No real reason to believe this will end it. Just vacuous hope.

Will follow this thread closely.

Good luck!
