Help - Removing the Boge

Looking for help on how to remove the bottom connection of the Boge self leveling unit. The shaft goes into the bracket at the bottom and there is no nut to loosen that I can see. The only thing I can see is two flat spots on the shaft itself that I might be able to get a wrench on and just turn the shaft itself. Anyone have experience with this?

Are you planning on replacing it or leaving it off? If the latter, I just cut the cast mount with a cut off wheel on a 4.5in angle grinder.

I am having a hard time picturing your description. The BOGE unit has a ball joint on both ends. There is a collar that holds the ball in place. You can unscrew the ball itself. Here are a few pictures from when I was rebuilding it if it helps:

Planning to remove it but want to avoid cutting it if I can get off without it. MUDSUX, the lower ball joint is what I am talking about according to your description. How does it attach to the lower cast mount? Does the collar thread into the mount or does the ball just sit in there?

So if I take the top mount loose from the frame, can I rotate the whole unit to unscrew the ball, or do have to remove the whole A-frame as well and then disassemble?

Is this thing needed? Or can it just be removed?

It's useful if you ever carry a load. I believe it pumps up with suspension movement to help take the load off the springs.

I never put it back on and haven't missed it. I had to cut it off in the end. I have OME medium duty springs and have had 25 bags of concrete in the back before and it was just fine. It might matter more with stock springs though...
