Help> Injector Pump started leaking!

Doing some rather routine maint - rear diff fluid change, so no link.

Started it up to check a light, and noticed fluid dripping off the front diff. underneath, saw fuel dripping from bottom of injector pump. Not from any of the pipe unions I could see.

only drips when running. rather good rate of drip, not flowing, just drip, drip drip.

More info: cleaned up the pump. itis leaking from the seam where the injector pipes block joins the main body of the injector.

- is this a DIY level of fix, assuming it is a gasket there.

200 Tdi defender.

Any ideas, suggestions welcome.

Mark,Yes these injector pumps can be worked on diy within certain limits.I fixed leaks from the throttle shaft O ring and the body gasket on the housing below it for about $27 compared to over $1k quote for a rebuild. All the info was obtained from and pretty sure they cover where your is leaking from.

I had a similar leak on my 300Tdi. Relatively easy and cheap fix. Most of the parts I bought from a place in San Antonio specializing in VWs. Look for posts by me (michael67) - I'm posting with my phone and there's no easy cut&paste.

Update: post subject is "300 Tdi &".
