Help decoding exmod 3.5 engine number

I found the engine decode tables for civilian Rover v-8 but my number is nowhere to be found.

I was told the spare engine I have is an exmod 3.5 engine from around 1984, 110

Engine number is 528G00019A. The 5 is partly hidden by the head and it may be a 3.

It also says 8.13:1 compression ratio on the same machined surface

Can anyone confirm this is an exmod engine and what year it was built/originally installed in??

Thanks

I'd notice that and decided to post anyway since most sites out there have the same sequence.

Except for this one which shows 58D as being a Range Rover 3.9 EFI block with 9.34 CR: http://www.v8forum.co.uk/RoverV8Fact...ineNumbers.htm

Its all too much....I just want to go and hide

whatever I can

Is this an ex mod engine? What does prefix "s" mean? Service replacement engine? military designation? what year was it built?

I would think that rover would be the party stamping the block not the military. I'd call RPI and ask them if they can shed any light.

When the military (or their subcontractors) overhaul anything, they often stamp it with their *own* numbers, not necessarily in line with factory production numbers.

Canadian MOD

I found out yesterday that the engine came out of a Canadian MOD 110 so the number may reflect that too. Still looking for some real info if there are any Canadian MOD folks out there.

The engine number is S28G00019A but the first digit is partly covered by the head so it could also be 528G00019A

28D is a
R:R Carb Man
8.13:1
1986 onwards

Which doesn't fit your trucks model year but could easily be a replacement engine.
