There is a white floating plastic part with some springs underneath the black rubber. No buttons or switch that I know how to flip.

I looked at mine last night. You are right it is a white floating plastic part. Many years ago mine tripped and I seem to remember that the white floating part was raised up. I think I just pushed the white part back into position.

You have fuel relays on order and that is probably the fix. Last fall I went through much the same thing (car wouldn't start, no sound from the fuel pump.) As a temporary fix I swapped a fog light relay into the fuel pump relay plug. That worked to make the fuel pump relay run. You don't want to leave the fog light relay in place as it will drain the battery or so I've been told. Turns out that I also had to replace the Ignition Control Module (which I replaced with a $30 Ford unit). But my guess is that your fuel relay just went bad.

When you swap in those new relays let us know what happens.

Relays Worked. Pulled in, got a jump, fired up, it was nice. $100.
The truck is still running rough; or at least louder than I remember it, but since it's been 3 mo., it should come back to live as I remember. I think spark plugs and a little grease underneath +some fuel cleaner, etc. should do the trick. Thanks for the help all.

We have 110K on the clock now and I think I have done most of the 60K service multiple times.

Has anyone ever used BG products or services?

This truck kicks ass!

The part is from NAPA and is TP40SB. I believe it was from an 80s model Ford pickup. At Napaonline the part name is Mileage Plus Electrical Ignition Control Module $29.99. NAPA also has the same part but at a higher price (a different brand and somewhere around $80) but the $29.99 module worked fine for me.

I've posted a write up with a picture, search for Ford Duraspark replacement Ignition Control Module ICM
