Hella Hydrolux

Anybody using this new Hella unit? looks pretty sweet to me, submersible and all, seems like a good light for front bump

It looks more like a work lamp.

looks cool. but i'll stick with the plain old hellas. I've gone swimming with them and never had them fill with water.

If those lights are submersed a meter or more below water, you have far greater issues than lights full of water.

Overkill.

David, sounds like you've never been wheeling in the Green Swamp before. 1 meter is about right.

If you are that far underwater you are probably going to have some other issues . . . like you personally will need scuba gear.

1 meter is not that deep.........of a test rating. Just a safety margin I'm sure. Kinda like diving watches pressure tested to 2000 meters depth. The only way that watch will ever experience that, is for someone to throw it overboard in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

[If you are that far underwater you are probably going to have some other issues . . . like you personally will need scuba gear.]

ya know , yu got me thinkin' now. A five minute emergency scuba bottle (a la James Bond) would not be out of place
in a Rover! "the rover is in deep!...when suddenly it flips... the driver shocked at his demise, can't get the door open in time...but then he remembers! the scuba emergency bottle!
