Heater Core and Box Question

OK, I'm confused, I could swear I was told by some on this site, at a local shop, and by some other people more experienced than I, that the heater core with the down turned pipes would fit a LHD heater box. But I can't begin to make it fit. There is a bulkhead/divider in there that would need to be at least 1.5 inches further over to one side to allow this core to slide into the box.

Not a big deal, just means I need to order a straight pipe core after all. So.... when I look on Rovahfarm, it says:

Quote:
Application: Defender LHD and RHD heater matrix to WA159800 - from XA159807 only RHD - horizontal pipes
Not sure how to interpret this to get the one I need for the box I have. I don't know what year Defender this box came from.

have you talked to Trevor at Rovahfarm? He should know what you need. I have sent him a picture when I could not explain what I needed.

I think it also depends upon the year of the heater box. Some of the older trucks I have seen run with the down turned pipes. I have seen some of the newer 300 and Td5 boxes use the straight out pipes. The size of the cores are different.
