Heater swap, 110 type to Newer 90

Just wondering what needs to be modified in order to control a newer heater?

Do I need to replace all the controls, or will mine still work?
My controls are in the A/C facia(?) that is used for the a/c vents.

Also very curios to what the 3 cables control?
Heater flow, defrost/floor flow, and ????????

The new heater assembly seems to have a flap that cuts off the heater from the cab of the truck, controled by a cable.
